Get her a sketch pad and some nice pencils. You can get some kind of nice tote bag to put them in. If that runs too much for you, maybe get her some pencils or other drawing accessories and make a gift basket out of it. Maybe add in a gift card/certificate to an art store for her to get some drawing supplies too.

My granddaughter is artistic and 27 years old, we did not know what to give her for her birthday that just passed, So I taught of a security blanket and pillow to match,, it had butterflies on both the pillow and the blanket..It was home made and guess what, she drags that where ever she goes, it does not leave her side.. another thing she enjoys is a child's flashlight, both of these can be bought for 15.00 or less, if you make the blanket and pillow..

I have artistic teens in my family and what they cherish are their sketch books and sketch pads. They have a favorite feel of certain sketch paper...ask a person for guidance in an art store. Maybe get your friend a sketchpad with a fun 'doodle' on the first page from you..

I would make her something. I am pretty artistic and I love it when someone makes me something... not only that it's so personal. Go to the craft store and check out different things you can make... maybe you'll find a little artist in you too!

If you aren't really sure what she wants or needs, how about a gift certificate from some place like Hobby Lobby.
