Emo is a realitively new term.

Emo are typically Tweens that Look Goth but only for attention,.. then the same day they might be something completely different or forget made up stories they said the same day. Emo are just going through a Phase for attention,.. then it's over... they aren't Emo any more and they can't remember or it was all a joke to them.

Suddenly old songs are being labled " Brand New Emo Music" even though they may be 25 years,.. teenagers think they just came out Yesturday in some Emo Genre... Emo isn't a real Genre in music,.. people today are just simply STUPID.

In the last couple months suddenly Cutting has been being added to the "Emo" lable. On here some people think that is the only example of someone being "Emo". But this is some new fresh stupidity to a dumb lable anyways.

Maybe your wearing eye liner and have level/even hair. I expect that is all it takes for hair and makeup to be considered "Emo" at this rate.

If you favor black clothes that can fall into the "Goth" lable. Goths are some times someone that wears only a sigle color normally,.. like someone might love blue and wear blue all the time (not that anyone knows these things any more). Black, White, and Grey/Gray are classic Goth... I mean,.. go back hundreds of years and it was considered Goth then,.. though normally seen on structures... like churches.

If you plan to keep sticking to Blacks,.. run with Goth and say " You have something against Goth,.. that means you do not like Nuns, Monks, and Priest. They are Goth." Alot of the crazy people like the ones that think all liberals females go get pregnant on purpose, only have abortions when they are pregnant, and scarfice them to science *rolls eyes*. They go around here and in reality spreading the Goth means you love Satan or your a Satanic Witch,.. they are so out of touch with their own faith they don't know they go to a Gothic building to meet a Goth that teaches their Holy Book to them.

You are who you are. Know that. Don't let other people tell you who you are! Are you sad on the inside? If not, then no, you're probably not emo. If anything you probably just dress scene. Or are scene (someone who likes emo music/dresses a more stylish emo/but doesn't have nearly as bad of problems as you think). If you think you're emo, then you're emo. If you don't think so, then you aren't. Don't let other people label you, it'll ruin your life when change comes around. Be yourself!

Emo. Short for emotional. Emo. A genre of punk rock. Emo. A dress code of tiny t-shirts and horn-rimmed glasses. Type the word "emo" into your average search engine and you'll get over three million results that will encompass nearly that many different opinions of what emo actually is.

You're probably still growing and you're most likely not going to be the same person 30 lears from now. So don't worry about it.

As for being "emo," who cares? It's just another teen fad that will be dead and gone in less than 2 years. Just be yourself. And if you don't know who that is, spend some time figuring it out. One thing I can tell you though is that you're not "emo." Emo is just another made-up category -- based entirely on superficial observations -- to place people in.

just because others say you look emo doesn't mean you are. i know people that look somewhat emo but act nothing like it, you don't have to cut yourself to be emo...however, you did say, "i think myself as being emo" so...its really up to
