The ultimate purpose of a liberal arts degree is to continue on to specialized learning. You should have a basic understanding of the world around you and your purpose in it, and you should be all around educated after completing this degree. It should help you to appreciate all of the arts, and all of the ways people contribute to our society, whether it be by landscaping, building, accounting, medicine, etc.

If you want a liberal arts degree, then plan to go on to graduate school to obtain the education necessary to train you in whatever career you choose.

You should also be very careful to choose an excellent school for this. One I would recommend is Thomas Aquinas.
