You need a new attorney. And you need to let the court know that you are not receiving support while the father is still being allowed to visit the child.

A few things.

Yes, even if the other party does not show up you still have to pay your lawyer. The second he walks through the court house doors and is representing you he will bill you.

Remember, lawyers are like contractors. If you don’t like their work you find someone else. I have custody of my daughter and it took me 2 years and 5 lawyers before I found a good one. If the guy isn’t working for you don’t be afraid to talk to other lawyers. You are allowed!!!

Since the father isn’t paying child support and it’s court appointed. He is in contempt of court and will find himself sitting in jail. The court should know where he works and lives. Most states take the child support right out of company paychecks and send it to you.

Now, I don’t understand why a lawyer would continue to bill you when you have already paid the bill? You may want to call his office and find out what’s going on.

Couple of things you can do here.
First off, he doesn't have to tell you, but he does have to tell the CSE (or rather, CSE will know if they are going by the new hire registry or the equivalent you have in your town). Keep those bills; those are still claims you have against him.
You should be able to put in a claim against any sort of tax intercept. You also should be able to put in liens against property or bank accounts. The last resort is a contempt hearing.
I'd look up pro se lawyers and see if there are any willing to help you out.

the honor system does NOT work. they hide their money, work under the table and even their own mommys (the childs grandparents) help them screwww the kids.

yes yes yes...pester the child support case worker. calls dont work to well, so i usually write/fax...then they HAVE to address my case. the loudest squeek gets the oil my dear :)

contact legal aid. every state has it, and its in almost all counties. it goes on a sliding scale (free to most) and very helpful.

It took me a year before they started taking the support from my sons mom's pay check. She wouldn't pay on her own so I had to wait till they garnished her wages.

But if you need it that bad pester your case worker and she will step things up just to get you to quit calling.

The child's father is in contempt of court. Get on your attorney's butt to have him pay up or put him in jail.
