Basically when you pull a muscle it is done quick, stretching a muscle is slow and continuous over seconds. Both can injure and hurt.....Treatment is cold packs 20 minutes on and 20 minutes off for a couple of hours for 48 to72 hours then switch to heat for the same time period..Motrin will help with the discomfort.

Invest in some relaxing muscle rub, like IcyHot. GENTLY stretch your leg periodically. Put an ice pack on it, but only if it's swollen. If it isn't swollen, keep a heating pad on it. Heat melts away muscle strain. Get plenty of rest, but don't immobilize yourself, that can make it way worse than it already is.
