Probably about the same as the console itself, maybe even less depending on how you build or buy the system.
It's hard to judge though, without playing consoles on small/high resolution screens like CRT/LCD monitors. So it's hard to gauge console graphics versus PC/Mac graphics without a testing environment.

Well, probably not alot compared to what graphics processors are out there on the market. If you take a regular desktop PC, for example and modify it with Intel Duo core 2 processors and put the ATI Readon graphics cards, I would say you would get the same power as you would get on a desktop PC. However, the cost is much lower for a computer, but the whole reason why the PS3 is expensive is becuase it has the good graphics and it has the internet browser built-in to it. Personally, I would get a MAC or PC speaking from experience and sensibility.

after windows vista comes out, and more importantly, direct x 10 with it, there will no comparison between pc graphics vs mac or ps3. Although a good gaming computer will cost you more than a ps3 would. The latest top end direct x10 compatable video cards out now are $599, less if you find a deal, but for the graphics quality will blow away anything out there. Just be patient and upgrade this spring.

The major difference is that you don't have the overhead of the os on a PS3 that you do with a PC.
