It all depends on you.
if you think video games are just videos games and don't influence people at all you'll think its okay.
in my opinion, its not as bad as things we see on tv. We see violence in the media and on movies all the time, and this game is not any different. What is wrong is little kids playing it, you wouldn't want your 6 year old brother to play this game, stupid people need to learn that the game is rated M, its meant for people older than 17. It pisses me off that parents are concerned that their children are playing this game, if parents don't want his little one to play this game, slap his/her butt and take the game away from them. To me, its the same thing as a little kid watching a rated R movie, do parents want to take away all rated R movies too?
If you are mature person, and don't take what happens one the game seriously or your are older than 17 you can play it.
just to let you know, this game contains:
-stereotypes
-violence
-downgrades women
and all those things you see in music videos all the time.
I dont know what to say anymore.

first of all i might basically prefer to make clean for you that GTA IV is barely for ps3 and xbox 360 at present. in case you and your parents have been pleased with you taking part in another GTA recreation, then under no circumstances, is the mature content of GTA IV diverse from any of the others. certainly, there was a hack for GTA San Andreas which allowed you to play a locked challenge which risk-free nude content. So in a manner, GTA IV is definitely much less mature than San Andreas. yet no, the two video games are fairly super and in case you're able to desire to play the old ones, then this one is an identical content point.

In my experience games in a series can only get better, grand theft auto is a great game although it does have its quarks.

Nah, its pretty cartoonish actually
stupid lawers use it as an excuse to ruin videogames, especially like that hot-coffee thingy. that wasn't even Rockstars fault, it wasn't on the disk. But they got sued anyways and then you get games comming out like Table-Tennis instead :-/

I think its fun. I dont really play just drive around and run people over. but im also not a small child.it is cartoony like one person said. its not too bad i think its fine for adults and older teens.

it rocks, and is only bad for children and other minors. but for adults it is awesome. it is definatly made for adults and even rockstar said that during an interview i watched a while back.

I didnt' think they are good games. It was very overrated, and also a bit violent for my standards.
