Like you I" m surprised to hear about the use of baby lotion on hair instead of other products. It seems to have worked for your r boyfriend and you got to reap the benefits...so, if it does the job why not ?

I don't use it unless my baby needs it. Depending on the age of the child, you really shouldn't be bathing him or her every day. Newborns should be bathed a few times a week. Up until they're a year or so old, they don't really get that dirty, so they don't need daily bathing (which is one cause of dry skin). The only time I've used lotion on my kids is in the winter when we've been outside and it's cold. Their skin (cheeks) can sometimes get a little windburned and dry from the cold air. Also, my older son had baby eczema for a short time, so we used eucarin on him a few times a day, but only on the dry patches. If you do use baby lotion (some people use it every day) my pediatrician recommends Lubriderm Sensitive (dye free, perfume free). Also, when you bathe your baby, use Dove Free and Sensitive (white box with a light green label) That has moisturizers in it, and helps keep their skin soft, alleviating the need for lotion.

Using a baby lotion would be the equivalent of using a leave in conditioner type of product. usually people use lotion in an 'emergency' hair fix when there aren't any products available to them at the moment. I don't recommend using it as a regular hair product though because lotion tends to have oils in it and can leave your hair feeling greasy if you use too much of it or don't shampoo daily.

I've never used baby lotion, but have used baby oil (before shampoo and conditioner) it helps keep the frizzies down.

Never heard of it and don't know if I'd do it. I have curly hair and it is, for some reason, naturaly soft.
