If someone came on here, not knowing their race, said "I'm proud to be a person of color". I'm sure a lot would assume a black person however this could also refere to other ethnicity such as Native American, Asian, Mexican etc etc. So this statement would make no sense. Unless this person was just proud they were not white. So when someone says "I'm proud to be white", it doesn't really make sense. Unless they're only proud that their skin is white. So if white people mean this statement in terms of their heritage why do they not share their heritage?
I do understand some may not know their heritage but I'm betting a lot do so why not be proud of that?

I'm proud to be Dutch/German American.

My ancestors came from Germany, too, and I guess you could say I am proud of my heritage. But first and foremost I am a human being. My ancestry is secondary. What we share in common as humans outweighs differences in race and culture.

I am Asian and proud of it. There are so many ethnics in Asia and I am a mix of Javanese, Chinese and East Timorese.
I am proud of my skin color, it fits into so many color combinations since it isn't pale white or yellow and it tans only in summer after frequent skinny dipping under the sun. I like my eyes because it's not too big or too slant.
My heritage can cause confusion and problems during political chaos, but now I live in different part of the world and it's never a problem here.

I will not say I'm proud to be Black...African-American (I don't even know what to call myself anymore), but I do have appreciation for the struggles my people went through to fight for their freedom so that I and countless others could have a chance to have an education and being treated as a human being.

More important, I am proud of the spiritual heritage that I have as being one of Jehovah's Witnesses. That was the most happiest day of my life when I dedicated my life & got baptized. It's a struggle because of so much temptation to do wrong, but prayer & determination to follow Bible principles is what's keeping me going.

I believe people don't say they are proud to be white, because us white people here in the States can come from different ethnicity's all wrapped up in one. It's a bit difficult for myself to say I am a proud French/German/Irish/Native American, and heaven only knows what else!

I love how you stated that! I have always wanted to explain to people that say that, that it is not the same as being proud to be Mexican American, Asian-American, African-American. You took the thoughts out of my head lol

incorrect, loads of the confedarates, aka the losers, fought because of fact they needed to maintain slavery. Many even argue that Abraham Lincoln needed to end slavery as much as he needed to maintain the rustic unified. back to the activities, those white all of us is termed racist because of fact maximum of them ARE, no longer because of fact of they're proud. The proudness oftentimes comes with a part order of the different race sucks and can kiss my ft. Thats why prevalent white, black, hispanic, asian, and indian human beings locate them racist.
