I'm 14 and I was homeschooled for 5 years before 6th grade. I didn't have any friends or anything, so I didn't learn social skills. I'm in 8th grade now and I still have troubles. How do I get over it?

Best way like anything to get over your fears is just to face them. Slowly ease in, talk to one person at a time and build your way up. If you have to, talk to the nerdiest weirdest people u can find to begin with beacuse there is genrally less awkwardness when talking to them beacuse you feel less pressure of being judged lol

High school will be different. Most middle schoolers are socially inept. Take a teen class in social skills if there are still some around. Also ballet and gymnastics always help with awkwardness. Yoga is great for self esteem. Sports are a great way to become involved and make friends. Or, if you are more the singing sensation, join choir or play an instrument. Find your niche whatever it is.

Get involved in things that you like to do. Clubs, cheerleading ect. your school will probably have it. By joining clubs, you will make friends who are interested in things that you like cheerleading may give you confidence and help make you not as shy. Good luck!!

Just keep on hanging on.
