i don't know. i like some "emo" (I think, i mean, i like some jimmy eat world or sunny day real estate), but I'm not all emo crazy to where i can't smile in pictures or listen to some country or top 40.
i don't really get that whole i'm so depressed i'm cool thing.

Emos arent always depressed they can be happy and alot of us are njce they dont always cut there selves they arent all suicidal and when they why make fun of them and make it worse emo is just a state of mind u people that make fun of us because youre scared of change im emo and i get pick on all the time and it doesnt make sence to pick on somebody because they are depressed and make it worse. So stop making fun of them.

They want to join a group, so they conform in to the whiney emo subculture and try to look "deep" and "emotional", when in reality they are insecure and simply looking for some way to fit in. Emo kids make me emo. *tear*

Because they are hurting. They often don't like bright things or colours, reminds then how black and red their own life is......they don't know what "happy" or "contentment" is. They only know angry, sadness, etc... or it could just be the fashion, all black with a but or gray/red. piercings, makeup, spikes/studs and chains, and so fourth and such which...

They choose to be emo because they want to be, but right now it seems like a big trend. I'm not even really sure what "emo" means, but I think they like to cry a lot...
When I was in high school, I was considered "goth".
But a lot of time, people don't really think about it and say "Hmm, I think I want to be preppy or emo today". They just are what they are, whether it is for the clothes they wear or for something with real purpose. I was considered goth because of my slightly morbid thoughts and my artistic expression in drawing and arts.
I myself do not think I would like the emo lifestyle.
