I haven't heard of any problems with the rhino ramps or plastic ramps in general failing when used on an application like yours. For instance if you are using any of these Rhino Ramp products shown here: http://www.rhinoramps.com/product.html . I would have to say you would be more than covered with using them for your Vibe. Depending on the year your Vibe is the 2007 model shows a curb weight of 2700-2800lbs.(http://autos.yahoo.com/pontiac_vibe_base-specs/?p=all)

With that being said the weight of your vehicle is no where near the capacity of the rhino ramps. If you do however decide to investigate metal ramps try (http://www.discountramps.com/car_ramps.htm) as this might help enlighten you a little more on ramp uses... Hope this helps have a great day.

I use steel ones. They're just stamped and welded sheet metal.

I've used nylon rear sprockets on motorcycles that held up great, so why not? I'd think that they are equally reliable and strong. They may even have advantages over steel. Rhino makes good products.

If you get into more in-depth repairs (You CAN do it, by the way) you'll definitely want to look into a rolling floor jack and some jackstands. NEVER get under a vehicl that is being held only by a jack, no matter how good the jack is.

I have used the plastic ramps to change the oil in a International medium duty truck. I have done this many times and I think if they can hold the front end up on that, it can hold up the front end of your Vibe.

I have used the rhino ramps for a long time and never had any issues with them. Good luck

you sound like someday you might try some other simple repair. do yourself a favor buy a small floor jack and two small jack stands. its safer. ( the j stands must be placed under the cars metal frame nowhere else.) good luck. go with the metal ramps.

Check the load rating on them.

Myself, I prefer the metal ones. They are heavier to manuever but sturdier.
