The new guy that plays James Bond is actually a bit ugly facially, but he has a really nice physique that more than makes up for things. Therefore the average guy could be just as good if he put in enough effort to get a similar physique.

Also, he was in great shape, but nothing approaching inhuman.

I think you just described EVERY actor who ever played Bond, which means 'you get it'! Yes, Bond is supposed to be the every-man who happens to have the gadgets, catch the bad guys and get all the pretty girls, while looking like Average Joe on the street. That is probally one of the big reasons the Bond series has been so popular. Great assessment!!!!! :-)

I 'm thinkin' yes. I mean if I got the washboard abs, tight pecs, and had even a smidgen of acting talent, I would BE...the next Bond

I guess so. The guy really doesn't look James Bond-y enough for me. His face just isn't right.
