well, when im listening to music i like to listen to the music first instead of the words because i find it more relaxing. Then the second time i listen to the song ill decide i want to listen to the words to see what the music is all about

I always listen for the music first, namely the guitar and bass guitar...but this also maybe be because I am a guitarist and am familiar with all the diff effects and chords. Every song sounds different to different people because some ppl pay more attention to lyrics or vocals, others the instruments...sometimes all it takes is one of those things to make a person dislike a song.

Music first and then the words, as the chances are if it has a good beat it does really matter what the words are you will like it

I usually hear the music first, that's what I like first. I find that thewords are often hard to make out, but I do try to, because sometimes I really like the music and then find that the words are trash - or impolite!
The tune is what I remember more easily too.

I guess I like some songs that have lirics that dont make allot of sense like at the end of PYT by Michael Jackson it goes...

'Prety young thing, repeat after me,
say, nah,nah,nahhh,
nahna,nah,nahhh'

and I thinks its the best part of the song. Michael Jackson might of heard that from a 2 year old - maybe not with the tune, but you get what I mean. So I thinks the most important thing is the music.

The music. If I can appreciate the tune, I listen for the lyrics to see what the artist is trying to get across

music. if i don't get pulled in within the first few seconds i'm off listening to something else.

and half the time i have to look up lyrics to songs because i can't understand what they're saying the first time i listen.
