That is my biggest regret in life, that I never serviced in the Armed Forces. It wasn't a conscious decision not to. When I graduated high school in 1974 I had a job. I simply kept working without giving any thought to the military. If I had to do it over again, I would serve, proudly.

I was going to join the U.S. Army but I wanted to drive a tank and the recruiter told me that girls aren't allowed to drive tanks so I didn't join, then I had kids so all military recruitment became an obsolete option for me, but I believe I am still doing good I'm going to be a social worker.

I did serve, and in weather too. I was in snowstorms, typhoons and the heat of Vietnam. I was a voluteer, if that matters.
