I'm an English major too! :) I like you, have no interest in teaching. There are several things that you can do with your degree! For more info, click here:

I worked in adult basic education, and many of the program managers there had degrees in English. Even though its the field of education, it doesn't mean you have to teach. Also, you could work in publishing as an Editor - such as for business publications and newspapers. As long as you have good writing skills (which you should since you are an English major...) all of these are possibilities. If you aren't happy with your major, though - switch now before its too late!

You can move to South Korea, and live like a king! Seriously.
I'm an accounting major, and so is my good buddy. However, he thinks he may move to S. Korea to teach english. He has no English training besides what a regular kid gets in highschool, haha.
All i'm saying, is that someone with your major has opportunities abroad.

You can pretty much do anything you want with a 4 year degree from an accredited university. You can do HR, work corporate world.. You could even join the military and head to officer school if that is what you want to do. The possibilties are endless and aren't just shackled to you being a teacher. So look around and see what interests you the most!

You can work for newspapers, editors, publishers ect. You can also use your skills for most of the 'any degree will do' type jobs. Most university graduates do not find jobs that directly relate to their major, but the skills they learn in university are still important. I suggest talking to some career counsellors at your school who can give you more individual advice.

you can be a writer? are you not into that. well, a whole bunch of jobs just require a bachelors degree. so you could be like, a district manager, or supervisor of a business. what are you interested in? try to combine some stuff. also, you could be an editor, work for a magazine or newspaper, or you could be a critique of books and stuff.
