By easiest to play do people mean fretboard action, the size/shape of the neck? Other things? From what I understand Fender Strats are the most versatile and "easiest" to play, that true? Are Gibsons somehow more difficult to play? Thanks.

Electric guitars in general tend to be easier to play because the strings are smaller. Personally, I believe the Fender Strat is the easiest because it is very lightweight, has a relitively small neck, and the fret board is easy on the fingers. This however, is my opinion. Gibsons, to some, may be easier to play. Gibsons come in many makes and models. Gibsons are generally played by more experienced players. The Gibson Epiphone tends to require more accuracy on the neck for a cleaner sound- the strat gives you a little leway. If you are a beginning guitar player, I would suggest starting out on an accoustic guitar, that way you will have the fundamentals and accuracy down so your electric guitar playing will sound a lot better! Hope this helps!!

Ignore everyone..yes, seriously. There are no RIGHT or WRONG answers to this question.

I suggest trying out a ton of different guitars at a large guitar shop and see what fits your hands best and feels the most comfortable to play. Many ppl with big hands and long fingers prefer Fender strats because they feel the fatter neck fills the arch of their hand better and feels more comfortable to play...Others prefer a thinner neck like on Ibanez or Gibson guitars because they feel that are able to reach around the neck easier with their fingers and reach all the strings easier. They also believe it helps them play faster, esp for solos or speed metal.

Everyone's hands and brand preferences are different, so thats why it is argued over so much. Dont listen to anyone until you see for yourself though.

ok. ignore the guy ahead of me. strats r cheap. and crappy *** guitars. and gibsons, well some ppl say its cuz of the shape and stuff. but its also pretty expensive. i have no problems with any gibsons because there pretty good guitars. strats and some fenders have a really bad sound to it, or the wood it really crappy. and its all about the humbuckers, or the strings and tabs. you can costomize ur guitar, like if u have small hands, u'll want the strings to be more close together, and vice versa with big hands. i favor gibsons. or washburns. and b.c. richs r crappy guitars too. they look nice. but there really got a really bad sound to them. though i own alot of costomized guitars, and i say i like them.

though costomizing can be expensive. and gibsons can be expensive too.

buut i also like jacksons. and esp's. (if ur into rock, and know metallica, well there guitarist always use esp's). jackson's and washbunrs, they have some really great guitars, for not alot of money.

I'd say the Fender Stratocaster, by far the best action I've felt on an electric.
