The pycnometer or pyknometer is a device used for measuring fluid density, also known as a specific gravity bottle. Uses an appropriate working fluid such as water or mercury to find a volume for use in Archimedes' principle. Used in ISO standard: ISO 1183-1:2004.
A pycnometer is a flask with a close-fitting ground glass stopper with a fine hole through it, so a given volume can be accurately obtained. The name comes from the Greek puknos, a word meaning "density." If the flask is weighed empty, full of water, and full of a liquid whose specific gravity is desired, the specific gravity of the liquid can easily be calculated. A sample in the form of a powder, to which the usual method of weighing cannot be used, can be put into the pycnometer. The weight of the powder and the weight of the displaced water can be determined, and from them the specific gravity of the powder.

there is a gas pycnometer and oil pycnometer, too.

Q: "What kind of game can I shoot with an ar-15?" A: It depends upon the cartridge that the AR-15 is chambered for. Most AR-15 rifles are chambered to use the .223 Remington cartridge (the military equivalent is the 5.56x45mmNATO cartridge) But several AR-15 rifles are available in other chamberings and companies make upper-receiver assemblies that can be swapped to enable an existing AR-15 rifle to use another compatible cartridge. The complete list of available AR-15 chamberings can be found elsewhere, but I'll give you a short list of some of the more common options. ~The .223 Remington cartridge is useful for hunting small-game, such as squirrels, groundhogs, prairie dogs and critters up to the size of a coyote. ~For larger animals, such as deer or perhaps small to medium sized wild hogs, the 7.62x39mm cartridge offers a good balance of performance and cost. ~For deer hunting and for military & police applications, some people like the 6.8mmSPC cartridge. ~For deer hunting and for military & police applications, some people like the "6.5mm Grendel" cartridge. ~For hunting wild hogs and deer, some people like the ".50 Beowulf" cartridge. There are some companies that make rifles using a larger AR-10 rifle type of design. These rifles have larger magazine-well that is able to accept longer cartridges, such as the .308 Winchester, the .270 Winchester and a few others. Being able to use larger & more powerful cartridges allows a person to harvest larger game, like elk and black bear and medium to large sized wild hogs. As always, use "enough gun" to harvest a target cleanly and pass-up bad or questionable shots.
