The kids couldn't finish it with just the two, they needed the original players to finish the game with them.

Jumanji...that was a couple of years ago. Anyway, with two people you can finish the game. When Alllen was young playing the game, he could have gotten out and continued to play Jumanji if Sarah would have kept rolling until the dice read 5 or 8. The more people you had playing the game, the better the chances you probably could finish. I believe that there were 5 game pieces in the movie. Hope this helps.

When the game started in the movie, only two people (Robin Williams and the woman) were playing. But when the kids found the game, they joined in, so all four had to play to finish the game.

2 would have been enough in 1969 if it had been completed at that time. In 1995 when the brother and sister started playing and they brought Allen back the board would not let them complete the game without the two from 1969 and the two from 1995

In the movie it actually takes 4 people to play but it was only the two siblings that were playing!
