I am prochoice as well. I get sick of seeing the Pro-Life bumper stickers all of the time. Give me a Pro-Choice one!

We as people, need one thing in life, and that is the chance and the tools to persevere. Countries even go to wars over it; killing people who don't agree with them or what not. Back to topic though, persevering is the key to life, if you live through one day than in return you get the next. Its like a present were the one right you are granted is to persevere.
When a woman aborts an embryo/fetus/baby, be it whatever phase its in, she is taking away its right to persevere. She is taking away its one guaranteed right, were if you survive today you get to tomorrow. And the unborn baby can't stand up for themselves and say, "I'm here. I'm living through you. I want to live." The woman is basically doing to her unborn baby what Hitler did to the Jews.
One person could change the world. One person could find the cure to a disease that you might die from. And as a society we should consider an unborn child as a growing mind. As a potential prodigy that one day might cure Breast Cancer or Parkinson's disease. We should help them grow, instead of arguing over whether or not they get to live.
Sometimes people argue that why should a child be brought into a world where they might not find love. Simple, because they will. Someone will love them. Their mother or grandmother or adoptive mother or the nurse that helps to bring them into the world.
Even though the woman might have gotten raped and would have to suffer through the trauma with that, she would have even more trauma and mental anguish if she got an abortion. People I know have gotten abortions and have ended up in therapy for months trying to put back the pieces of their sanity and trying to comprehend all that has happened.
In many times people are for abortion and against war. Why? It makes no sense, people die either way. The thing we have control over is who. People argue and grudges are built, but why hurt something that has done nothing but exist.

Hi there :-) my names Jasmine and im 22 yrs of age
When i was 20yrs old i was bashed and raped (couldnt remember the intercourse) by a stranger.. I later found out that i was pregnant with his baby.. I had always been against abortions and didnt understand why people could even consider having one when there was always adoption. Knowing that a part of "him" was living inside of me made me feel sick and depressed... yet at the same time, it was a part of me.
Its a very hard decision to make.. i chose abortion... I always think about how old the baby would have been.. maybe i could have kept it.. It something i will carry with me for the rest of my life..
I now have scarring on my walls from the abortion ... doctors say they are unsure if i could carry a child now.. and ive also developed PCOS ...
Funny how things turn out...

I don't believe in murdering babies there is a thing its called adoption so that GOOD LOVING PEOPLE who cant have children of there own or just want more kids to take them in yes i know rape is a terrible thing and the person who done the rape should be castrated and locked up forever but why should the child have to suffer it shouldn't i think if you can murder babies then you should be able to murder adults its the same just taking another life its a CRIME both ways

I agree. Women should have a choice, but only if it's to save her life, or because she was a rape victim. If she's a teenager, and she winds up getting pregnant, she needs to take the responsibility upon herself to deal with what she got herself into. If she's a grown adult, and she ends up getting pregnant, she too needs to take responsibility and care for the child. If she just can't handle it, there are foster cares and other places the child can be taken to instead of killing it. Do you have any idea what most women go through once they've had an abortion? The depression is absolutely horrible, not to mention the guilt they have. My aunt had to get an abortion because her child would have been severely mentally challenged. The things it did to her mentally and emotionally were horrible. I've also had friends who got pregnant at an early age and decided that abortion was the way to go. They also went through depression and guilt for getting rid of the child. It's not something that should be taken lightly. It's something that any female will have to deal with for the rest of her life knowing that what she did was wrong.

Hey i've been raped and repeadedly for 4 years. I was a little girl so no chance of me getting pregnant but even if i would have gotten pregnant I would have kept the baby. I still see my rapist on the street sometimes. So i don't think that's an excuse to abort a living being.

I am totally against it. Everyone wants to say that it is the womans choice because it is her body, but what about the babies choice and the babies body. Nobody seems concerned about the little babies body being ripped to shreds, because it's mother doesn't want it. Why doesn't the baby have any rights?
And as for a woman who gets pregnant as a result of rape, well I happen to have a friend who was raped at 16 when a man pulled her behind some bushes, and she became pregnant. She did not have an abortion, because she felt that it was not her sons fault how he was concieved, and that he was just an innocent victim like she was. Her son is now 11 and she doens't see him as the result of her rape. She see's him as her precious child and doesn't regret her decision at all.

I agree w/ abortion in certian circumstances. For example if you have a disease (AIDS) then you don't want to pass that on to your child. Or if the mother is at risk of bleeding to death during the birth should consider abortion. Especially she had unwanted sex. So there are many circumstances that you have to consider. I dont believe aborption can be defined right or wrong like black and white.

While abortion is against my beliefs it's up to the person carrying the baby- I do however think that if one is intent on not keeping the baby then adoption is the better way to go because there are a lot of people out there unable to have children of their own.

As with everything, the answer is just BLACK & WHITE - each case should be considered carefully - we shouldn't blanket approve of it - in some cases, people use abortion as a 'contraceptive' because they can't be bothered. This issue should be addressed. However - in most cases, if someone is at the point where they wish to abort a baby, it means the baby is either unwanted, or the woman can not see a future for the child. Why FORCE a child into a world where it is either UNWANTED or unable to be looked after?

I am Prolife and Catholic. In the situation with the rape, i kno itis a horrible thing that happened but if God puts a baby in you, maybe there is a reason like who knows maybe that baby will be President or somehting. The only thing that I really can't say on is if it is a situation where your in serious danger if you go threw with it. THAT WOULD BE HARD! but in the case of prochoice i relize that it is your body and your choice. but it is also your choice to do it with the guy.
