The only Robitussin theory I know is to improve/increase cervical fluid. If that's what you want, you should take it 3 times a day, starting about 4-7 days prior to ovulation. It's important to know when you ovulate, because you should stop taking it at that point. Try OPKs and stop the Robitussin 48 hours after getting a positive. Good luck! (I've heard good things about green tea...and it tastes much better!)

eta: Robitussin does work, though, and it's a fairly common "home remedy" for women with inadequate cm.

I have heard of this method being very successful for some women. Make sure the only ingredient in it is the guafenesin.
i tried it myself a few years back and did end up pregnant but I'm not sure if the Robitussin helped or if it was just coincidence. It's not a myth though. Robitussin helps to thin secretions, no matter WHERE the secretions are coming from. Whether it be the respiratory tract or cervix.
Good luck.

I have never heard of the Robitussin Theory either, but as a fellow ttc friend, I would be willing to try it too. I have been ttc for about a year now and would try just about anything to have a baby! You are right, some of these people are being rude with their answers. Don't listen to them. Most of them may have never been in this situation or never had trouble having a baby. Keep trying and when something works Let me know! :0)

Good luck and God Bless!

Cough syrup helps you get pregnant? I have never heard that you need to speak to a OB/GYN and don't listen to myths. If a person conceived while trying those weird methods, it was because the were ovulating. Green tea now that is something that I have heard a doctor say. Did you know that Robitussin has Alcohol in it? So why would alcohol help you get pregnant? Good Luck

Jack Daniels is better than Robitussin for that purpose.

Tastes a lot better, too.

First off I'm not rude and it took me 10 years to conceive my second child. I had my first child in March of 1993 and 13yrs 1 month and 15 days later I had my second child, who is now 6 months. There was no reason why I was having a problem conceiving and I surely wasn't going to turn to modern medicine for it figured if it happened it happened I wasn't going to "help nature along". Ive personally never heard of the Robitussin theory but have you tried using one of those ovulation kits that tells you when your ovulating, taking prenatal vitamins in order to concieve. It took me 10 years and I think had I used an ovulation chart it wouldnt have taken me so long.

Robitussin!!!
Did you know that both prescription & nonprescription DRUGS are not good for our bodies? It wasn't planted and grown in a field, its unnatural. You could really get yourself sick that way. It is best to lean more in Natural Remedies or Alternative Medicines. Its best to detox your digestive system. Candida yeast in the intestines could prevent you from reproducing. NO diet sodas, no sodas at all, leave fast food alone also. I will give you a website to visit about that.

this is how it is:

if you have a regulate period (28 days), the ovulation happens on the 14th day after the period starts.
