I've always had good luck with petco. the place I've had the worst luck is petsmart. however places vary and the petco here could be good, but bad where you live. I'd recommend going to the store to check it out in person.

It's difficult to know how Petco acquires their animals. A reputable breeder would be better. Look at the cleanliness of their areas and their overall health.Go to Petco if a local breeder isn't available.Look for an active bright eyed healthy animal. Good luck.

They're known for missexing their pets, selling sick ones, poor socialisation, giving wrong (possibly dangerous) information & providing inappropriate housing.
You could have a look on http://www.petfinder.com. There are many small critters that are looking for a home. In most cases, a rescue will only adopt out healthy animals & be a reliable source for information (if it's your first time getting a certain type of pet).

yhea petco is a good place to get a cage but try going to a small place first because it might be less expensive

yes it's a good place...but it depends on which petco store you go to i got my guinea pigs there They're so cute!
