Utah was required as part of their admission to the Union to renounce polygamy There are still places where it is practiced by renegade LDS church members. The most notable place is the twin communities of HildaleUT & Colorado City AZ located on what is called the Arizona Strip.
The next time you're in Las Vegas and get tired of losing money you should take a ride up there and ask the locals about their life style. I'm sure that they will be more than happy to tell you all about it
The ride itself is under 2.5 hrs and the scenery is amazing.

Don't be a doofus. In the first place, polygamy is NOT legal in Utah, even if it is practiced by a certain religion. Also keep in mind that those who DO adhere to polygamy have not only multiple wives but multiple children to be responsible for. They take care of all their wives and children. It's not just an excuse to have a playhouse.

I think polygamy is outlawed there, but it may not be enforced heavily as other states. I am from Utah and it's boring as hell. Why have 9 wives when you can have 9 girls or girlfriends without all the drama persay.. or getting in big *** trouble?

The Mormon Church hasn't done that for a hundred years now. The ones doing it are hiding out in the hills and desert. If you want nine wives, find that many agreeable ladies and have a ceremony without filing the paperwork.

Nope. The LDS (Mormon) church is NOT the one with polygamy. There is another group (RLDS-which stands for reorganized latter day saints) that practice polygamy and they are VERY loony. The Reorganized Church recently changed its name to “Community of Christ”. They have many wives and a lot of kids and they live in a community where everybody else is polygamist. If you are ready to handle 9 wives and ready to raise many kids I wish you luck.

Yup! Why not open all the doors? You have woman marrying woman, men marrying men, why not men having 9 wives? What's so outrageous about that in light of how causally we treat this sacred bondage?
