If you have been taking medications that could be normal but you should call your ob tonight just in case.

You should be feeling your baby move throughout the day, especially at 31 weeks.... If it's been more then a few hours and you haven't felt even the slightest hiccup then it's time to call the Dr... Babies do sleep while in utero though, so don't worry! Maybe he/she is taking a little nap to remind you that you need some rest as well.. Feel better soon but call your OB- you'll feel better once you do =)

I had the flu once when i was 20wks pregnant and i also had a head cold 2 wks ago (35wks). Bub cant get the flu from you, but you can get dehydrated from being sick. Keep your fluids up - drink more water and if you have a fever tylenol/paracetomol is safe to take if you get a high fever.

My baby's movements never slowed down when i was sick. So it depends on individual circumstances. If your worried ring your doctor for advice. They might recommend you go in for a CTG monitor. Good Luck.

first of all don't get scared i have six kids and yes it true you should see your doc always when you have any concerns but let me just say your getting farther along which gives baby Little less room and sometimes there are periods of time there seem to be more quite but all you need to do is run in and have them do a quick fetal monitor or heart rate no worries I'm sure all is well the flu is a virus and as far as i know baby is not effected by it ! but of course do all you can to get your health back for baby sake

Be sure that you are drinking plenty of fluids and eating as much lean protein as you can as your body needs this to fight off the virus.

As for the baby's movements, try laying in a quiet room on your left side to see if you can get him to moving...If not, I would highly suggest calling your doc ASAP. It could just be that the little guy is docile because your feeling so crummy but it would be much better to be safer than sorry.

Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!

I am 32 weeks and have the flu too. drink some orange juice (something sweet) lay down on your left side, relax the baby should start moving around they respond pretty well to juice (sweet drinks).
you are probably a little dehydrated some get some ginger ale, water, juice and drink a couple of glasses, but give your ob/gyn a call too.

Of course you need to check with your doctor. I remember being worried toward the end of the pregnancy when a very active baby slowed right down to just some punching and kicking. I was scared, then found out it was because he was large early and there was just no room any more to move around.

Sometimes babys do just seem to stop moving...My last did this to me constantly...making me fear the worst...what I used to do is drink a really big glass of icy cold water...its a little trick i learned from my Doc...I have stubborn babies that dont like to move around for ultra sounds...one big drink and they would do cartwheels...try not to worry to much...even in the tummy babies need loads of sleep...

Try to drink a glass of water and then lay down on your left side, wait a few minutes he has to start moving by then. If you have any concerns call your doctor. Good Luck!
