Actually headers wouldn't have a place in them for the sensor and would throw your computers fuel air mix ratio off (give you worse gas mileage) . Sorry I know of no recall , I would however change brands of the sensor you are changing , I have always had good luck out of Bosch products , just an idea though . Good luck

if i have been you, i'd by no skill bypass decrease back to the mechanic that charged you $260 for an o2 sensor alternative. they're a $50 area, and they take a lot less then 5 minutes to modify. once you've a wrench (often times you want a propane torch) you may replace the 02 sensors. yet anyhow, heres the deal, at the same time as the code for the 02 sensors exhibits up, it only promises a generic theory of the problem. you've an 02 sensor after the cat, and im useful it really is what became replaced. The defective 02 sensor should be brought about by a defective cat, and thats precisely the problem youre having. The mechanic did the perfect situation. He replaced the most inexpensive area first. He cleared the codes, and each and every thing became advantageous, now you discover that a defective cat is causing an identical code... This mechanic became worry-free interior the very shown truth that he in common words tried screwing you on the exertions, and by no skill the unique problem. Cat convertors fail each and each and every of the time...it doesnt matter how previous the vehicle is, it really is going to ensue. $2 hundred for a cat is slightly severe, yet when that incorporates exertions, thats about common. cats are severe priced. Im confident your toyota broking may be charging $three hundred+ for the area on my own. yet like i reported, i wouldnt be utilizing that mechanic back. $260 for an 02 sensor is nuts.

What brand are you getting? Bosch makes most of them for the car manufacturers. I've never heard that about O2 sensors before making then fail prematurely. Sounds like bull to me. Try a different brand this time.
