They fly around you see it in the news or mags but nothing more. So many reports from all around the world but I have never actually seen anything myself. I would like to believe we are not alone as the galaxy is s very massive. Just to think that we are the only existance is crazy but then again like I said I have never had any ACTUAL FACTUAL proof... IF you have proof come forward.

Because they don't exist.

I belive theres aliens its ignorant to think its only humans in the whole entire universe. And the reason why they wouldnt show them selves could be thier gathering info about us as we do to animals. Thier so far advanced in many ways that they know were not ready to know and the world would go balistic.

So far we've seen no verifiable evidence of other sentient species. That said, I believe with some certainty that somewhere in our galaxy at some past, present, or future time, a sentient species did/does/will exist.

Why haven't we heard from them?

Perhaps they are not technologically advanced enough to be heard. They may be mastering stone knives right now, or experiencing their own Rennaisance.

Perhaps they are here right now. Any species sufficiently advanced to travel interstellar distances would be able to hide or masquerade with ease. That Boeing 737 that just flew by may be a surveillance craft.

Perhaps they are so far away they will never notice us and vice versa.

Perhaps they existed a million years ago and died out.

Perhaps they will exist a million years from now.

It is really impossible to know for sure.

The Drake Equation suggests that there is sentient life out there. The Fermi Paradox casts doubt. Play around with the calculation form at the second link and see what you think.

There is a lot of debate over the very existence of extra-terrestrial life. There are those that deny the possibility, and those that argue that they even live among us. Let's consider a few things first, though

Life as WE know it requires very specific conditions, such as the abundance of elements (e.g. carbon), compounds (e.g. water), and countless other variables for the slightest chance of its existence.

Water must also be present in liquid form, which is only in a rather narrow range of temperatures. A planet must therefore lie within a certain distance from a star to meet such conditions (which depends on the temperature of the star)

How many planets live within this speculated area (called the 'biosphere,' or 'habitable zone') within our solar system? Some say, believe it or not, three; Earth, Venus, and Mars. Only Earth carries life, although current studies may indicate that life could once have thrived on Mars. If Venus and Mars could be within the habitable zone, they are certainly at the outer limits.

What about around other stars? Millions of stars per galaxy, millions of galaxies known, and how many have planets? We can only estimate, as current technology can only locate very large planets orbiting extremely close to stars ('hot jupiters') with few exceptions. Habitable planets may be present around other stars, but we can only speculate right now.

However, this only applies to life as WE know it: carbon-based. It's possible that other elements could be the base of life, which could thrive under very different conditions, but again, technology just isn't there...yet. Some scientists believe life may exist within Europa, one of Jupiter's moons, but it remains only theory.

Even if life is out there, considering the number of stars, the potential number of planets, and the vast distances separating even the closest stellar neighbors (ours, Proxima Centauri, is over 4 light-years away), the likelyhood that any foreign life has visited us is very slim... and the possibility that shaky magazines are the only ones that know the 'real deal about aliens' is unlikely, too, considering the number of professional and amateur telescopes that look to the skies every night...

Actual, factual proof is in the eye of the beholder. Many unusual occurrences suggest alien life, but scientists always have excuses. There will always be yeasayers and naysayers until there is truly unrefutable proof. You decide whether you believe in extraterrestrial life or not. But contact with us? Extremely unlikely...

...But still possible.

Because a species which is intelligent enough to have devised a means of interstellar travel not limited by the terminal velocity problem (ie light speed as fast as you can go) wouldn't have anything to talk to us about. To them we'd be little more than how we perceive small monkeys, we show signs of intelligence but still hit each other with sticks over the stupidest of things. There are only two reasons for extra terrestrials to come here, the first assumes they have a sense of humour in which case they'd come here to point and laugh at the funny bald monkeys, the second would be the simple calorific value of human bodies (ie they'd come to eat us) combined with our vast numbers. So they wouldn't want to share the joke with us because we wouldn't get it, and they wouldn't want to have an intelligent conversation with their food so they simply wouldn't bother talking to us at all.

Because they love us and have a better understanding of what effect it will have when they do show themselfs instead of us finding them. Heck they might actualy be doing things to try and stop us from finding them because of the effect it might would have on us. Finding aliens could help to advance our technology alot and when culture and technology advance in different lvls some bad stuff can happen. If aliens where to show them selfs about all they could say without giving away some secrets to technology would be hello. And even that would have some effect. Honestly if you ask me I think plants/animals will know if aliens exist in our solar system far before we do lol just because they can be better trusted not to panic cause they think more logicaly then humans lol. Anyhow I tend to look as if everyone every other life form I run accros to be aliens to me. And I love each and every one of them or at least try to. If you think this way it can help you understand why something wouldnt reveal its true form to a "lesser" being because it would probably blow its mind. I think love is the answer and untill the world finds the questions that leads to love we probably wont be open to viewing aliens. Look for questions without answers or answers without questions and you will find some truth. But look for answers with questions and questions with answers and you will find the truth.

In my opinion, the reason there isn't much indication of extra-terrestrial life is that those who survived long enough probably evolved past the need for physical bodies.

The lenght of time we have been sending and reciving raido transmissions is the blink of an eye, geologicly speaking, let alone in terms of the greater universe and who knows how long it will last?

We may find different technologies and Raido Transmissions become antiquated, then we'll be looking for their communications in the same arbitrary forms we use.

We may not have proof simply because we probably wouldn't even recognise we saw it.

Somewhere in a rainforest, there is a gorilla wondering why humans don't just live in the wild like she does. She doesn't know about indoor plumbing, shamrock shakes, cruise ships, microbiology or I-pods.

We just have to trust their judgement about this. When we are old enough we will be told that Santa Claus exists, and when we are older still we will be told the rest.

Umm.....because aliens have never been to this planet.

I find it highly unbelievable that aliens would spend all those resources to travel to our planet time and time again, only to try and stay hidden, "beam" people up, rape them, then send them back without any proof.
You'd have to be pretty stupid to believe that aliens have been here.
I have no doubt other intelligent beings exist in the universe, perhaps even in our own galaxy.

So many fools in these forums!

Answer to the question; Yes they have. But their social struture is different from ours. They are what they are and do what they do. Publicity is not part of their agenda. Have you ever had a camera handy when you see a shooting star? That's why!

Unfortunately most media stuff is just fake and serve nothing but to add fuel to the other fools in these forums to joke about.

I don't have proof, but I have heard stories that i do believe. I think they don't show themselves is because..
1) They are observing our planet and are not sure if they have a reason to show themselves.
2) Something prevents them from landing or getting real close to the plant.

Just my thought
