Heh, you're like my sister: when someone calls out, "say cheese!" she freaks out and pulls a silly face.
When you're taking a photo, just relax and feel easy. Don't feel vain or self-concious for making a natural and attractive face. It's just a pic to capture your pretty face to bring back some memories in the future.
