What's happening in our brain? How can a thought or fact be retained in a mass of protoplasm? What changes in the neurons when we retain a thought or when we forget it?

Also, if a person doesn't know any language, can he think? Because generally even when we're thinking, we use a particular language.

The brain sends information in a series of electrical signals, and retains a though or memory (most likely) in the same way. Retaining thoughts and forgetting thoughts are two very mysterious processes, to which I'm sure someone else can answer for you. Sorry, I just don't know.

A person could, ideally, still think if they lack a language, but they will be severely disadvantaged because they cannot communicate with others. As a result, it is difficult to learn. Some number of years ago, police officials discovered a seven-year-old girl who had been locked in a closet all her life by her father; consequently, she did not know any language. She could think, but she had grown wild and unable to think reasonably.

How can information be on this computer? A crude analogy, but accurate enough. In fact, the rise of computational machines has shown us how representation can be incorporated in hardware. Not to say, of course, that the human brain is a computer. Language and thought, though normally intertwined in representation, are not the same thing. We thought, though some of our abstractions were not represented, before we spoke.

Let me try part of that. Two years ago my wife had a major stroke, a part of her brain died..Of the several parts of the brain, one "side" works on multimedia, and one "side" on logic (sorta) the Logic side would probably have a problem without some sort of language, but the "multimedia" side would probably get along just fine..The two sides work together (mostly).
When brain injury happens, they some function is often lost, and that, sadly, teaches a lot about how the brain works...
