I was on that ride a month ago and it sure smells like captian morgan, is that ture

It was probably the washed up drunk in the row in front of you, not the ride

It is certainly possible. There are bottled aromas available to the theme park industry that cover the gamut of pleasant to rank smells. And smell is a very strong memory trigger.

Disneyland's Pirates smells musty, so perhaps Disney World is seeking an individual aroma identity for their attraction.

I've been on this ride dozens of times, as recently as November, and never smelled rum. Chances are it was someone in your boat. Then again, it's Disney... who knows.

could have been the ghosts on the ride having a little fun.

there are in fact at least two ghosts on that particular ride, i've heard all the stories.
