The emotions are still there, but hiding. You are hiding them from yourself. You have walled them in and refuse to let them out. This is probably a defensive action.

This could be caused by having a very good friend die, but there might be other reasons. You cannot force yourself to express that which you are not aware. Some might say that you are in Denial.

Have you stubbed your toe lately? Or have a strange driver cut you off while you were minding your own business? Has someone bumped into you and spilled something? Any little thing which might have made you just a little angry? Anger is usually the first emotion to return. The others will follow in time.

I think the key words that you are saying yourself are, "I feel empty inside". This explains a lot of what's going on with how you are reacting to everything and everyone around you.

I think you are definitely suffering from "depression". What is causing this depression is the thing you need to find out. Also, depression can last for years and lead you in no good directions.

I know you don't want to here me say it, but you need to see a doctor, that is also a therapist. This doctor is called a "psychiatrist".

They do not only treat crazy people, but they CAN help, by LISTENING to you and also prescribing medications that will correct some things chemically within you, that will eventually help you get back to the normal, happy you.

PLEASE don't ignore the signs, talk to a professional about it, you WILL be glad you did.

I am the same way. I've been in a relationship for 5 years and now I have no emotions for him or other people around me. I think because for so long I had expectations of him and us that didn't happen, that I went through a period of hurt, anger, bitterness, and now numb. Maybe you should start over. That is what I'm thinking of doing.

i think that you are keeping alot of things bottled up inside of you and its preventing you from enjoying the wonderful things of life like laughing, sex and even crying maybe you should just let it all out because life is beautiful and everything in it even the bad things that's what makes us stronger hope you feel better with time you will i am sure of it

First, it is a good thing that you are aware of your situation. I know you said you don't want to be told to see a doctor, but I think you need to see a therapist. Just someone to help you work through it. It seems to me that you are depressed. It happens for no reason sometimes. You may not need medication, but someone to help you work through it.

The very fact that you have raised this point shows that you are emotional.Things do stir your mind; it is just that you keep them suppressed.Quite possibly these events do not stir you sufficiently. It is a passing phase that events keep you cool or they leave you unstirred. Do not shy away from events. Some small event may disturb you.
