1. Being stressed out can cause you to miss a period.
2. An irregular cycle may look like a missed period at first. A few years ago I went from having a perfect 28 day cycle to suddenly having 7 week cycles occasionally. It was scary at first.
3. Menopause, which can happen as early as the 40s.

Hormonal imbalances due to peri-menopause, tumors, thyroid imbalances, and stress. Many young and older women occasionally experience irregular periods from time to time. Usually it is not a serious problem. I would get it checked if it persists. Get well soon

Several factors: poor diet, emotional stress, over excersizing, and of course, the one you don't want to think about - pregnancy! Also, on the bleaker side, endometriosis, tumors,...etc. Sometimes it just happens. If you feel okay, you're diet's okay, and you're routine is basically normal, don't worry about it.

Starting menopause at a very early age.
Morbidly overweight - a 20-something year old had this problem years ago. I'm not sure if she still has the same problem.
