I'm 13 and my periods aren't regular yet. For example, instead of the normal 28 days between periods, mine is more like 2 months. I've had periods for almost 2 years now and it still isn't regular. My sister and my mom never had this problem.

I forgot to mention that I'm not really slender so that isn't the problem. I'm not fat either but I'm not super skinny. I'm 5'5", 115 lbs.

Don't worry about it. Everyone is different. Your periods will even out as you get a couple of years older. I started at 9 and mine weren't regular for awhile either. Heavy but not regular. As I got older they got more regular. Let your mother know if there is any change in cramping, heaviness, length of period, etc. You may need to be on birth control pills to regulate your periods. Don't hesitate to see a doctor. Stay safe. If your mother doesn't tell you about your body...ask here or email me and I will tell you anything you want to know. Don't believe what the other girls tell you. Check it out with someone who knows.

Yes it is quite normal for someone of your age to be ir-regular in mentstration. I wouldn't worry about it. As far as your mum and sister goes I wouldn't worry about that either, each person is an individual. If this is still happening by the time you are 15 then I would perhaps talk to a doctor.

I had the same issue until I got on birth control pills to regulate it because I had cysts, it is normal for your body to go a little without a period. Our bodies were actually designed to have baby after baby but our society does not go along with that and we prefer to tell our bodies when to have a perios, your body has its own schedule of when it is ready to shed the lining but if you are really worried talk to a doctor to make sure there is no underlying reason.

Because of your age, I would think that this could be normal. Actually woman of any age can have irregular periods. However, because you are now menstruating, your mother should probably book your first appointment to the Gynecologist if she hasn't already. He/she will be able to possibly regulate your period or at least assure you that you are OK.

Good luck

My periods were really irregular like this also when i was around your age. Your mom can take you to the gynecologist and there you will be given a pelvic exam and she can put you on birth control pills to help regulate your periods. Good Luck =)

first off, 5'5 115 lbs is skinny! and 2nd yeah its fine sometimes girls who are 15 skip their periods and they do not become regular. it all depends on your body, and has nothing to do with how your sister and mom have never gone thru this

Yes, it's normal. Mine were the same way when I was your age. Your cycle should adjust by the time you're 17.
