I'm in eigth grade, and whenever i'm at school, i'm this really bright, really cheerful, hyper, social (if i can say so myself) person. i have lots of friends, i laugh a lot, i talk a lot, i move around a lot... you get my point.
but at home, i'm this really really quiet, shy, person, doing homework quietly, lazy.... all that.

i don't know which me is the real me, because i feel comfortable doing both these things. I know for certain that i'm not faking my personality (i'd never be able to do that), but why is it that my personality changes so drastically from school to my house?

it might have to do with the fact that i'm half-american, half-japanese, and at school i speak english (which im more comfortable with) but at home i speak english (because my mom doesnt really speak english....), but im not sure.

help?

Hey! don't sweat it young lady. You are doing just fine. It reads you have a nice family life. Enjoy your friends, enjoy laughter and school and your youth within reason. Love the quiet and lazy times for now, as those times will become few as you grow older. Love your parents and keep doing what you are doing. It is honor of being from both races that continue to contribute to the advancement of the Human Race.

if both personalities feel right and comfortable than why eliminate or alter one of them, unless it's hurting people or something or there is some other important reason to change. unless someone has a real disorder like did or sumthing...split personalities are normal, to change how you act depending on the circumstances.

Your the same person. Your just very social at school because all of your friends are around.

You get home and just your family so you just chill out.

You are both. There is nothing wrong with this, people often feel that they have contradictory personality traits. It may be influences of your cultures in different settings as well.

i see no problem about that. as long as you're comfortable in doing your thing and as you act naturally, well, all i can see is you.. your attitude changes because your environment requires you to, like in school, it needs your active participation.
