Most probably they are, but you neglected to mention exactly what model of printer you have.

Apple supports a number of printers out of the box.

If yours isn't in that list, a similar model might be close enough to get away with or, canon might have drivers available for you.

A list of the built-in printers support by apple made by canon:
Canon BJC-1000, Canon BJC-2000, Canon BJC-210, Canon BJC-240, Canon BJC-250, Canon BJC-30, Canon BJC-3000, Canon BJC-4300, Canon BJC-4400 photo, Canon BJC-50, Canon BJC-55, Canon BJC-6000, Canon BJC-6100, Canon BJC-6200, Canon BJC-6500, Canon BJC-7000, Canon BJC-7100, Canon BJC-80, Canon BJC-8200, Canon BJC-85, Canon CP100, Canon CP220, Canon S400, Canon S450, Canon S4500, Canon S800.

it all depends on what you want to do with the computer. personally, im a film major and use a lot of those programs apple makes. i still like microsoft office, so i got it when i got my mac. i love my mac. i got a mac book pro and its a bigger laptop and a little more sophisticated then the regular macbook. id stay away from the macbook air, though, the reason its so thin is because it doesnt have many of the features a regular laptop would have. but really, it all depends on what your going to do with this computer. go to an apple store and talk with one of the mac geniuses or something-they should be able to help you out, especially with the more technical differences between mac and windows hope that helps

The BSD (a 'Nix, like Linux)based Mac OS X has all the printer programs necessary, embedded.

In fact most of the Apple printers since 1988, are Canon brand printers, with the logo changed!

Yes. The Macbook will probably have the drivers built-in. Go to /Applications/Utilities and open Printer Setup Utility to add the printer, if it doesn't ask you if you want to add a printer when you first try to print.

Quick question for you....you said Dell sucks. I guess you have tried them before. They only sell Windows based systems. Do you know that the O/S on an Apple is not MS Windows? Prepare yourself for a whole new experience.

Apple machines are better than Windows machines for those in the graphic arts field. Enjoy your new machine!

If OSX has the drivers for it. I'd have a list for you, if only the Canon site was working, well, when it starts working you can go to Choose The Right Product and select OSX, http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ProductCatIndex1Act&fcategoryid=103 that's when it will break, who knows when it will be fixed.
