yes i know it can get infected and it hurts but does anyone have any tips on where i should put the hole and such?

Do you need to know how to do it?
Get a surgical steel stud, and make sure you sanatize EVERYTHING you use.
Get a sewing needle.
Get a cotton ball and use alcohol and peroxide and clean both sides of the lip.
mark the postion of the piercing (Lower lip is best)
Quickly push the needle throught the marked spot.
Instantly put the stud in.
Wash again with Alcohol and peroxide.
I cannot stress SANATIZEING enough. Seriously it is very important.

I don't recommend that you pierce your lip yourself.
If you want to wear jewelry on your face, get some of those stick on gems that most beauty supply stores carry. That's a lot better, not to mean easier and less destructive.

Gross, don't do it yourself. Not only all those things that you mention, but it will look like crap. And people will go "Look at her tacky lip piercing, it looks like she did it herself!". It doesn't cost much to get it done, just go get it done professionally.

Dont do it yourself, it will hurt worse than getting it done profesionaly, and it will look worse, and getting an infection will be hell!

seriously you should go get it done professionally because you could hit a nerve and paralyze your face. it is not expensive for getting it done right. i have my tongue,lip,and nose and i would have never comptemplated getting it done at home.
