I prefer Rap. All these people are hating on rap saying it has no feeling. Obviously you don't listen to rap because it is full of feeling. Alot of people just stereotype rap and dont even listen to it. If you dont, you shouldn't say things like that cause you don't even know. Youre talking on a subject you have no clue about. Also someone else said rap is just someone talking fast over a beat and doesn't require skill. So wrong. It does require skill and it requires skill to freestyle on the spot and come up with good material. and not all rap is just "talking". People don't realize what the true nature and purpose of rap is. Just like rock there are different categories of rap. Theres so much more to it than the stereotypes prople accept it to be. And someone said rap gets old Never. Alot of other genres of music are now trying to fuse some characteristics of rap into their own music. Like rock, and country ,Because rap is just that influential. If you like rock better that is fine. Everyone like different things, but when you start downing rap calling it crap and assigning all these false characteristics to it clearly you misunderstand it and you have no idea what you are talking about. So don't act like you do. Don't speak on a subject you're cluless about . To answer the question I prefer rap. I love it, but I think rock is good too.

Rock music, moreover metal. You see when you pick up an instrument for the first time, you have no clue how to play it, it requires years of practice to become even mediocre at it. Also it requires talent to write a song and have the talent to play whatever instrument you are playing. Rap on the other hand is someone talking quickly over a catchy bass line created by someone else, not the actual rapper, usually.

Everyone has their own different taste in music so I can't say what's better. For me I like to listen to rock but not heavy metal or rap.

rock but not metal, it depends on the lyrics. Chris Rock has powerful lyrics, but there are also rap artists that have the same like the Black Eyed Peas "Where is the Love"
