She is 25 years of age and she is not the smartest person. She has a problem with reading comprehension and she sometimes has difficulty with comprehending verbal directions given to her by someone. Her self-esteem is extremely low because of this. People constantly put her down and tell her that she is slow and mentally challenged. Family members also tell her this also. As a result, this has killed her self-esteem. Right now she is taking classes to work on her comprehension skills, but she is still having difficulty with the classes. She has dreams of becaming a computer technician, but is not confident that she will be able to succeed in this field it because of her low comprehsion level.

The more she reads the better her comprehension will get, if you watch movies together when it is over ask her to tell you what the movie was about, that should help too...your family should be ashamed of what they are doing! I hope you stick up for her. :o(

Try referring her to Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic: www.rfbd.org. She may find that by listening to textbooks while she is reading them that it increases her comprehension. She will have to get certified as learning disabled but they can help her find someone to do that, too. If she's not in the U.S., she may still be able to work with them, but they will give her tapes and not CDs, so that the CDs aren't copied and sold. This is a great organization, I hope they can help her.

It complicated to fully say what's incorrect from purely that suggestions. It feels like he has some psychological matters however that are inflicting him to grow to be dysfunctional. Who knows if some thing happened to him to make him like this.. basically a possibility yet is he on drugs on the 2d? that could reason human beings not be waiting to get alongside with anybody. He may well be depressed.. or paranoid. With those human beings its oftentimes complicated for them to understand its them with the subject too and in case you attempt to tell them they gets offended at you cos they have confidence its all of us else with the subject. with any luck he will see he has a concern and get help for it.. possibly you should ask him if hes ok on the 2d and spot what he says. yet be careful he doesnt think of you're having a pass at him. good success..

(For those who don't realize it, the question was "What can I do to help her").

As someone else said, encourage her! Make her feel good. Tell her she has the ability to become a computer technician. Practice will help her (as I think the same poster said), and you may want to talk to her about her goal of becoming a Computer Technician and see what she needs to do and how you can help her :)

Good luck ^_^

Encourage her! Just because she has a learning disability does not mean her feelings aren't hurt. She feels bad, just like you or I would if we were told we were inadequate or dumb. It's wonderful that she is taking courses to help her. Tell her to stick with it even though it is difficult for her.

I am not sure what your question was, but I hope this helps.
