either your fuel filter is plugged or the fuel pump is bad.

It could be a few things... the first top three are: 1-battery is crap... doesn't hold a proper charge 2-alternator is crap... not charging the battery properly and not providing enough power to run the car once the battery is too dead 3- the car starter is crap, without this, the car will not start. The easiest way to check these... is get a boost, a charged battery or a portable power pack (with boosting capacity) If the car does start, then it's 1 or 2. If the car starts, then dies the moment (or within moments) of removing the extra power (other battery/boosting cables, etc.) then it's probably the alternator. If it starts and runs, but won't re-start after you stop the engine, then it's the battery. Now, these are the usual top three guilty factors, but it could be wiring that went bad or other things.

You probably have a frozen fuel line. Gas antifreeze has to go through the line before it can prevent freezing. If you can get the car in a garage and warm the fuel line full length for a few hours it will probably start. A hair dryer might help but you would have to be careful .

Sounds like your fuel pump has gone out. You can shop online at autozone or checker auto parts to find the pump for your car.I don't know if you have those in canada but if you don't then just go to your local auto parts store. If you are unsure what to do then maybe you should take the car to a repair shop and have them check it out. The money you spend my be well worth it.

I'm gonna guess its a high mileage vehicle, if it is, how long has it been since you have put spark plugs in it. I would start there, if sounds like the plugs have fouled out. And while you are doing that, take a few minutes, and replace the dist. cap and rotor. I think you will find that will take care of the problem.

"You need to rebuild the carborator.
Source(s):
Service Manager for Nissan Dealership" ???????
You've got to be kidding! This vehicle doesn't HAVE a carburetor.
It DOES sound like there's a fuel delivery problem, IE: fuel filter, fuel pump, etc.

With all of the cranking without starting it is very possible that your spark plugs and cylinders are fuel soaked and won,t fire. This is common in the winter time. Pull the plugs and dry them off or replace them and see what happens.

If your car runs after spraying starter fluid, and then quits, there is something wrong with your fuel delivery system. Fuel filter, fuel pump or even a clogged fuel line. If your weather was real cold, you could have water in your line as well
