Not only do they slam the rich, they go out of their way to make vast and elaborate excuses for the poor.

Kobacker: that's what we call "ivory tower liberals" . the think the world can be this ideallic place if we only gave more to those who don't have, they think that the poor never make wrong choices and bad moves and do nothing to purposely put themselves there. They like to throw money at the problem while all the time they are completely and totally out of touch with the poor and what they are doing. "not in my back yard" and "out of sight, out of mind".

lol at wheres the link. everyone knows this fact. u need an education. and if anyone needs a new diploma its the liberals on here. no one said u are in a better boat if u make 15000 a year and pay less taxes. in fact, no one mentioned boats at all stupid. the point is people who make a lot of money MADE their money, they own it, deserve it, nor would they live in a ghetto if they paid less, as the stupid long haired cartoon seemed to suggest a few answers back.
the point is, why would one American be able to demand someone elses money? can u go next door to some neighbor who is smarter than u and more important and demand he give u money for your broke *** and your snot nosed kids that sit and watch rosie odonnell? no. but they can get a representative to pass laws for them to take whats not theirs cause they are too dumb and lazy to do for themselves. liberals are nothing more than animals that u have to pay for and keep because they sleep eat and **** themselves and thats it.

In therory they do. however if your income is from dividents ("the Idle rich,") you're tax rate structure is radically different that for those of us who work for a living (and draw a paycheck.)

Furthermore, even if the top 10% were to pay 75% in taxes; at the end of the day, they'll have more money left than anyone of us has.

Are you talking about people like Al Gore?

Read on.....

In one of the largest sums ever donated to charity by a U.S. public official, Vice President Dick Cheney and his wife Lynne gave away nearly $7 million last year to help the poor and to medical research.

According to income tax information released by the White House on Friday, the Cheneys' adjusted gross income in 2005 was $8,819,006.

he Cheneys gave more than three-quarters of their income - $6,869,655 - to several charities, including George Washington University's Cardiothoracic Institute and a charity for low-income high school students in the Washington, D.C. area, Capital Partners for Education.

The Cheneys' charitable generosity stands in marked contrast to that of their predecessors, whose sometimes stingy donations became a national embarrassment.

In 1997 for instance, Al and Tipper Gore contributed just $353 to charity, a sum that raised eyebrows even in friendly media circles.

The Los Angeles Times noted, for instance, that the Gores' slender donation "caused some bewilderment in philanthropic circles because of the vice president's 'good guy' image as an advocate for public service and social causes."

The same year the Gores gave $353 to charity, they reported $197,729 in adjusted gross income.

so if somebody makes 15,000 a year, they're in a better boat because they pay less taxes? So why don't you tear up that diploma that mommy and daddy bought you, and then you can get on the gravy train they call government assistance, as for me, I'd rather pay my share, than live in the ghetto, if it's all the same to you.

Michael Bloomberg, Mayor of the City of New York is a multi-billionaire & is quite poliically liberal. The Rockefeller Family are a great political dynasty that are rich, socially liberal & are great philanthropists. Does that sorta conflict with your statement? You can be wealthy, politically & socially liberal.
