I'm writing a paper for my US History class that tries to go beyond the vague generalizations people tend to make when speaking about slavery. I couldn't really find anything that talked about Northern economy in regards to slavery. Does anyone have links to any articles that mention how the North felt it was more beneficial to emancipate slaves for monetary profit?

Go to your library's web catalog and do a search. Get some real books and look through them. You are sure to find better information and learn more. Sometimes browsing through a book can allow you to find some gems for papers.
