I'll break it down by decade:
70's - Led Zeppelin
80's - Guns 'N' Roses
90's - Nirvana

Led Zeppelin though, is the one who started it all. In basically all the bands today, you could hear a little Zeppelin in them.

Good Question. In my opinion, the band that produc es the most energy live and onstage has to be the FooFIghters. THey have anuncanny knack for placing together melodies that hook the listener into the restof the song. Not to mention that their stage presence is undenaiable. I definitely recommenc checking them out. I'm not a huge fan of modern music, but these guys know what it's allabout.

Depends on the time frame... Post 1980 will always be METALLICA (insert obnoxious !!!!!! here LOL) regardless of their actions or even a weak as* CD entitled St. Anger...

I think before them has to go to Led Zeppelin, then Van Halen.
