Why is METALLICA the best band in the world?!?!

That would be RUSH, but Metallica ranks in the top five.

Here's who I think the best bands are (top 5):
1 - Led Zeppelin
2- The Beatles
3- The Rolling Stones
4- Pink Floyd
5- (Pre-Black-Album-Metallica/ Old Guns n' Roses) [All Gn'R naysayers note I made emphasis on OLD Gn'R lineup]. I couln't choose between Metallica and Gn'R since they've their present state is somewhat tarnished and they are still around.]
I know this list is somewhat cliched but that is a consequence of Classic Rock being so superior to rock music today.

I won't entirely agree with you, but do se your point. For the genre that Metallica finds itself, they are hands down kings of the world. Over their career they have printed such classics such as Master of Putppets, ...And Justice for All, and to a lesser extent The Black Album. There is something magical about their performaces that make a stage come alive wih uinbridles energy. THe epitomize modern rockstars,and that is something that has been lacking for thelast decade and a half. I wish them the best of luckin the future.

60's- The Beatles & The Stones
70's- Led Zepplin
80's- I agree....The mighty Met rules all!
also, Janes Addiction
90's- Tool & Soundgarden (Rock officially dies with the end of "grunge")
00's- Audioslave & A Perfect Circle
Why do bands like Metallica and Zepplin and those listed above... ROCK SO FRIGGIN' HARD???
Because, to this very day...they ROCK just as hard as they did at their conception.
also....total record sales, live events held, Universal press coverage and overall International appeal.

Aerosmith been around since the 70's and still sell out stadiums. Sold out Comerica Park at 60,000. That's staying power.
