I have pulled the sam (registry files as well). How can I extract the hashes from these files. I don't want to have to use a tool locally on the machine that the hashes are for...

Ok... let me restate:
I used a live cd.
I pulled all the registry files off of Computer A.
I have the files on Computer B
What tools can I run on Computer B to get the hashes out of the Sam file?

Just so I don't get my question removed: These are my computers, so I HAVE permission.

Sorry about that...

Thanks in advance.

XP doesn't work that way. If one of your other accounts has admin rights, you can go into Administrative Tools ==> Computer Management, and then expand the stuff on the left side till you see an object that says USERS. Highlight that, and then right click the administrator account in the right pane. You'll be able to change the password (if you have sufficient privledges on the operating system).
