Download "Zero Assumption Recovery" and run it.

For a classier but costlier program, visit RunTime Software.

you can recover the data from the hard drive but it will be costly
(in the thousands) while my buddy says reformatting the hard drive deletes it thats only half true (no insult intended)
when you reformat it only writes over the data not erasing it totally

i did the same thing years ago when i accidentally installed linux and formatted the whole 80 gigabyte drive with a linux partition

so i did some research and found this place called "Data Savers"

they do some wierd stuff and open the hard drive , use special programs and things of the sort

You can try to restore the computer to an older working configuration. Detailed instructions are posted at http://fixit.in/systemrestore.html . I canalso give you a link that deals with hard drive problems. Some drive problems can be easily fixed by yourself using easily available tools. I found the info at http://fixit.in useful. Try this site, if you can get what is required.

You can't..a reformat is like erasing what you wanted. Reformatting a hard drive is basically deleting everthing on your hard drive.

All you have to do is hit CTRL and Z on the spacebar and it will undo it or click on Edit in the top corner and hit undo.
