Sometimes when you win you actually lose, nothing good comes to anyone without some form of sacrifice. You have to decide if it's worth losing something to win something.

And what happens when the person does NOT win? Ever hear of POOR losers?
Well, there are situations where it is far better to have a good attitude and learn that winning is NOT everything -- and that the way to be a good citizen and member of society is to RESPECT the differences in skills and gifts from EVERY Human being -- this is a good thing!

No winning is not everything. You can win and be unhappy. You can lose and still be a happy person. It is all in the way your experience things. It is good to win but if you do your best and lose you will know you did your best ,take it in stride and move on to the next thing. Even if you never win you can accept it and live a happy life.
