In the card game, there are cards such as Combo Master(from the Cyberdark Impact series) that say stuff about chain links, so what is it?

Chain links refer to the number of cards in a chain. Example, You summon Airknight Parsheth and I chain Bottomless Trap Hole. You respond with Seven Tools of The Bandit and then I respond with Solemn Judgement. There are 3 links in this chain. Bottomless Trap Hole is link #1, 7 Tools of The Bandit is link #2, and Solemn Judgement is link #3. Once all the cards have resolved cards like Combo Master count the links and if their requirements have been met the effects will activate. Even if a card in the chain is negated or destroyed it still counts as a link.

Ok, here is a chain link.

Let's Player A summons a monster. Player B activates Torrential Tribute, which is Chain Link 1. Player A counters with Seven Tools of the Bandit, which is Chain Link 2, and if you counter with a card, that would be Chain Link 3, and so on.

when you activate a card and you or your opponent activates one before your card is resolved. It goes something like this: I activate dark armed dragon (1st chain) My opponent negate it with divine wrath (2nd chain) I activate solemn judgment to negate divine wrath (3rd chain) and then it resolves from 3to2to1 3solemn negates divine wrath 2divine wrath cannot be activated because it had been negated 1dad activates its effect. Miuraculus rebirth can be activated as a 4thchain.

correct me if im wrong but a cahin is when lets say u activate a spell card the ur opponent activates an effect to negate it, thats a chain, they often happen in main phases, so if one of these happens in ur main phase 1 then ur Combo Master can attack twice
