besides the religious reasons.. its a happy time (that is why unhappy people have a hard time) time to be thankful for all the good things in your life...time to be with family.. get closer to friends.. celebrate.. Christmas can be done without the huge expense... but its just all a part of it. but i do alot of home made presents(and i love getting homemade presents).. kids get soo excited.. and its sooo much fun to watch them.. if that is all i get out of it.. is to watch my kid and the light that gets in her eyes.. that alone makes me happy...

I think that most people including myself really love Christmas because it is that one time of year that you can really show people how much you care about them. It brings families and friends together from all over the world. We celebrate happiness and joy, and want to spread it all around. I love to celebrate Christmas because it makes my heart overflow with peace, love and happiness. It embodies everything good that is in humanity.
Many people celebrate Christmas for the Birth of Christ, and that is certainly a great reason in and of itself. That is where the traditions come from. The three wise men came to see the newborn Jesus bearing gifts, and this is why we pass gifts along to others. It is a gesture of love and kindness.
Others celebrate Christmas just for the fun of it, because lets face it, it is fun!! There are all the beautiful lights and decorations. Nothing is better than sitting under a Christmas Tree that is all lit up with a nice cup of hot cocoa, and singing some Christmas Carols. There are also Christmas parties where friends and family get together sometimes for the only time of the year, and talk and catch up with each other, and generally enjoy themselves.
Christmas is a wonderful holiday, and that is why we love it so much!

Because the Christmas message is one of hope. Whether you are Christian and have a traditional Christian interpretation, or you celebrate a secular "Christmas", there is a similar theme. People coming together, it's supposed to be a time to share (gifts) and spend time together with people you care about.
If we buy all that stuff, it is in the hopes of bringing joy, cheerfulness, etc. to either ourselves (because we like it) or others. And then there is impressing the in-laws, and the neighbors...

depending on your age. I loved it as a kid, but the older I get the more depressing it is to me, I have done the dinner for 3 years now & again I,m asked to have it at my place cause I have the room, well I would just rather go to someone else place & sit & do nothing but drink wine & eat the nice dinner. Hope that,s not bieng rude, but you get so tired of bieng the one to do it year after year.

Because, it's the birth of Christ. If he wasn't here...there wouldn't be all of the nice and wonderful things that we get for Christmas. And most important, there wouldn;t be any of us humans...just remember that when you're celebrating Christmas <3

because people are creatures of habit and Christmas is a tradition a lot of people who don't care why it came about or the reason it's all about tradition, partying, and presents.
