I live in san jose, CA 95129. My friends and I need to pick a restaurant for formal, but all we have come up with are places that arent really formal enough, so does anyone know a good italian restaurant?

Check for a local Buca De Bepo great food, several throughout CA.
Might check out the Los Gatos area also. Edna Rays has good Chinese. Theres a place with great wood fired pizza and a good brewery. Several fantastic places downtown not far from Highway 17.
If not check out the mall in SJ just down from the Winchester Mystery House. There used to be a couple of nice restaurants surrounding it.

I don't know what Italian restaurants you have been 2 but I would recommend Olive Garden.

Bella Mia in Downtown SJ, on 1st Street is nice. Maggiano's in Santana Row is nice too, but you share the food, so don't know how formal that is, but it is pretty nice. Valeriano's in Los Gatos is nice too.

Spoons? I believe its in campbell. I haven't been there for several years, so it may not be there, or be formal anymore.
Try looking in the Phone book under "Fine Dining". This should help you locate what you need.

Check and see if there's an Andiamos anywhere in your state. it's a chain of restarants, but i'm not sure if they're in California. if you have the time, money, and patience, i know there's one in Michigan
