Because we're so used to seeing the college studs who are top picks flop. Any sign of hope at all and people compare them to the greats.
If I was Tennessee, I'd be looking to pick up a solid backup like Matt Schaub. It didn't look like they had much of a plan B for quarterback, and that's too bad because they look like they could develop into a decent team.

Because people jumped on the band wagon. I see Young as a growing, maturing QB. Will he be great? We probably won't know for a year or two. It's the same with Bush. He had one good game last Sunday and now everyone thinks he is a beast. He has shown flashes, but like Young, he's been inconsistent.

Young IS a good QB. in fact, he's having a much better rookie season than guys like troy aikman, terry bradshaw and such. he's just proven that he can make plays when it matters and that he can be the quarterback that he was in college. he beat the manning bros in consecutive weeks (even though the giants were in the middle of a meltdown and they kept running the ball on the colts-their weakest quality, both teams had huge flaws). young's passing is much better than when he first started in the nfl, but as of now, he is more dangerous as a runner than a passer. he will no doubt be a top qb in the league one day as the best dual threat qb in the nfl. but in terms of development, he is much further behind than his rose bowl counterpart, leinart. young hasn't shown that he has a great understanding of offense and passing game. the coaches don't ask him to read coverages or blitzes, which is the reason why he scrambles more than he should. so he defensive reads has to get better but it will. and he doesn't have pocket awareness yet, but he'll get that as he plays more, its not something you can coach. the upside of young is that he has a huge learning curve and growth. much more than a guy like leinart, who has shown that he was in fact ready to start in the nfl. Young is going to be good.

First, because he is playing much better and the team is winning. His stats aren't great, but they didn't get off to a good start either. Manning wasn't that great in his first year (70.2 QB rating 56% completion rate, 26 TD's, 28 Int's). I wouldn't say Young is the man now, but he's getting comfortable and starting to play much better...and they have won their last 3 ball games.

Let's see how the rest of the season plays out before we put him on a pedestal...and definitely before we start trashing him.

well come on now inconsistant play is to be expected from a rookie but besides that he's doing pretty good for a rookie he's 5-2 as the starter and his numbers are pretty good considering alot of people said that he wouldn't do so well in this league so it is what it is i think by next year he will be a much better quarterback then he is now

Because thee giants were leading 21-0 in the 4th quarter and young got them a win,not all QBs can beat a 21-0 deficit in the 4th quarter. And then he and his team beat indy in the 4th quarter, they were down 14 points.

I guess its a product of Rose Bowl hype. We saw how he had poise and how he carried the Longhorns to a championship. During the Colts game,we saw a little flash of it. But believe me, where I live, they will rave of his performance. Heck, even my football coach is of UT descent.

To make it in the NFL in the first place, you have to be at least good. You work yourself up from there. The best make it all the way to Canton.
