I don't know how to convince my son to stay away from this 19 year old that lives with her boyfriend. She started hitting on my son(16yrs old by the way) at work. They keep sneaking off together. I can't stop them. What should I do?

This is probably the last answer you want to hear, but, the truth is, you can't really do anything.

When it comes to parenting, parents do everything they can for their children throughout their growing up years and the hope is that they take with them the values and morals that you tried to help teach them.

There comes a point when the parents have to let go and let the children learn for themselves what works and what doesn't, even if the learning process involves a broken heart.

I would let him know what you think and the reasons why you think what you do, and then step back and allow him to make his choice.

Place you foot down and tell him thats the end of this nonesense and if it goes on, take a legal course of action against the 19 year old. Because in the end your only looking out for you and your sons well being.

There's really nothing you can do but just wait until the boyfriend finds out and beats his ***. That will teach him a lesson. You could always just speed things up by telling the boyfriend though.

Tell the guy that the girl is living with. He'll take care of it. If you can't convince your son, then he will.

Unfortunately, there is not much that you can do. He is going to have to get hurt eventually. As long as he knows what he is getting himself into. You're only job is to be there when he might get his heartbroken. I don't suggest trying to get him to break up with the girl. But I do think it would be a great idea to make sure the girl he's dating knows you know what she is up to.

Explain to him that it is a bad situation he shouldn't get mixed up in. You love him and don't want to see him get involved in all that. He is young and still has plenty of time to find someone he wants to be with! Good Luck! Hop it works out!

That is totally hard to convince. If he is in love with the girl, try talk to him. Im sure it can clear up sometimes.

as hard as it is to always be there to protect our children, it isn't always possibble, just have to let him learn by his mistakes. just talk to him tell him just what can happen to him if the boyfriend finds out. tell him that nice girls don't cheat on their boyfriends, and that she may do the same to him.
